OpenAI ChatGPT Outage Affects Users Worldwide
On June 4, the ChatGPT from OpenAI went down globally with a prolonged outage. The incident began approximately at 07:00 UTC, and ten minutes later, around 07:21 UTC, OpenAI recognised the issue and started to investigate. The company initiated mitigation efforts at 8:30 UTC after identifying the issue. Issues on the server side cause ChatGPT downtimes.
ChatGPT stopped responding to some users who said it was not working on mobile or web and that it looked like a server-side issue. The chatbot’s self-diagnostic attempts resulted in some customers receiving a “Internal Server Error” message, confirming the back-end issues.
As has become tradition, the internet took to social media to voice their frustration (and, in some cases, outright refusal to) with the dogs plotting to take over the planet and the clipacks at the drop of a hat, and a fair number of those comments would manage to include some clever humour.
The problem triggered a social media backlash, with Australians taking to Twitter to share their frustrations. Another user also sounded off: “Constant outages and crashes are so frustrating—also very unprofessional.” Some juniors are sweating because OpenAI is down and they can’t pretend anymore. — Name (@tweettobaresome) December 15, 2021 Some who have relied on ChatGPT for coding help voiced their distaste, with one asking, “Who took down OpeWhen writing a program, there is code that must be coded.ing a

Sites that crash are more expensive than those that scale and output data in a clearly observable manner. Modern businesses rely heavily on data, so why are they not managing it effectively? he questioned.
The recent reliability issues and their implications for advertisers are a topic of interest.
Tuesday’s Service Outage: One in a Long Line of ChatGPT Reliability Woes One example is on May 23, when Microsoft’s Bing search engine suffered an outage and ChatGPT lost web-search capabilities. These events exemplify how deep the dependencies between digital services are today and what kind of impact infrastructure failures can have.
## Copilot Response and Recommendations
When asked what was going on with ChatGPT and where it stood, Microsoft Copilot advised people to consult OpenAI’s status page because it had no immediate knowledge. But Copilot gave good recommendations on how to create stable web services, like principles, technology stacks, and validations.
Despite the ongoing server error, the community is optimistic about its swift removal and a return to ChatGPT’s glory days.
